Another milestone reached: 500,000 COVID deaths in the US. Yesterday the president observed a moment of silence and held a brief ceremony in honor of the victims. "About 19% of total global coronavirus deaths have occurred in the United States, an outsized figure given that the nation accounts for just 4% of the world’s population."
Once again, the New York Times came up with a poignant and creative way to memorialize the occasion: each dot on their cover represents one life lost on the timeline.
